“Oro. From the legendary Inca Gold and the Spanish Glory to the ardent Kruger Savanah and the Ethiopian Kingdom of Aksum, humankind’s connection to the Sun.”
Honeylike, Floral Anisic, Powdery with a Citrus Zest.

Camino de Azahar Oro (Orange Blossom Flowers Alley in Gold). Man. Natural Perfume.

Atmosphere
Humankind’s connection to the Sun, symbolized by pure Gold and the olfactive evocation of the landscapes and ages it has lived on unaltered. One generation, one kingdom, passes to the next. The Inca soil, roots, essences and exuberant tropical fruits from the archetypal primitive forest, the Spanish Glory with its emblematic Azahar flower and fragrant ancient cities, the mystical spices and resins purifying the Ethiopian Aksum holy sites or the Pharaohs Pyramids… and then finally all melts away under the incandescent African Sun bathing all living forms in the Kruger Savannah, embracing them all: the fire, the honey-scented flowers, the drying wood, the dust and the sweat. A drop of this perfume will bring you to meet your own splendor and share your light with the World.

Notes
A very powerful and resplendent composition with an explosion of captivating sweet scented flowers such as Orange Blossom (Neroli), Lily, Champaca and Ylang Ylang melted in a caramelized heart of precious Namibian Omumbiri and Omumgorwa resins, African Yangu, Cape Verbena (Lippia Jivanica), Honey and Vanilla. The exuberant tropical fruits and nuts from the Amazon, Andiroba, Sapote harmoniously toned down by Wild Mushrooms, and Precious Woods in a pure symphony.

Closest olfactive family
Woody, Amber, Citrus and Floral.

Aromatherapy
Stimulating, mood enhancing, energizing and uplifting.

NadiaZ perfumes may contain 15-150 plants which bear unique active ingredients and interact with each other in NadiaZ holistic compositions. The featured plants are a selection of some of them for you to discover. Please check the menu NadiaZ Ingredients to learn more about the brand repertoire. NadiaZ is involved in research on the specific phytotherapeutic properties of indigenous plants, however perfumes enter in the cosmetic category and not in the medicinal one, which is why legislations do not make it possible to describe those on this website or the brand documentations. Feel free to google them or check on Wikipedia to get more information, or send an email for specific questions.

Omumgorwa Resin (Commiphora tenuipetiolata):
Traditionally used as a perfume called Omove and as a soap by the Himba people in Namibia known for their reverence to beauty and the incredible skin care living under harsh weather conditions, this resin only forms after after a tree has died naturally and is thus sustainably harvested. Its smell, between candied date and freshly made caramel, is just amazing.

Himba-Woman-Harvesting-Resin

Omumbiri Resin (Commiphora wildii):
Traditionally used as a perfume by the Himba people, this resin, unique to Namibia, is sustainably harvested by women. Its scent is unlike other myrrh due to its freshness, earthyness and citrussy hint.

omumbiri

omumbiri-2

Champaca (Michelia/Magnolia champaca):
Known as a component of the most expensive perfume, the champaca tree, native from the Himalaya and belonging to the Magnolia family, it literally exudes what is perhaps the most sensual and pervasive of all scents. The species has become vulnerable in the wild; therefore NadiaZ only uses cultivated Champaca.

champaca

Lily (Lilium Golden Splendor and other varieties):
The delicate nature of the Lily flower means that only the gentlest enfleurage technique, where fresh flowers are soaked in oil to render their aromatic components, can capture the true natural perfume of this heavenly flower. Finding such an enfleurage is extremery rare in modern days where synthetics have replaced most of the traditional natural techniques. NadiaZ therefore sources its lily enfleurage from small eco-friendly growers in America.

lys

Cape Verbena (Lippia javanica):
This indigenous plant is used as a local remedy. Never before has this exhilarating acidulated scent been proposed in a luxury perfume.

lippia-javanica2

Sapote (Pouteria sapota):
An edible fruit indigenous to Central America and the Carribean with a delicious oil bearing a distinctive aroma of bitter almonds with a tropical twist. Mostly used as a costly ingredient in hair care, it is yet unknown in perfumery until now thanks to NadiaZ’s groundbreaking techniques to capture it subtle gourmand scent.

sapote-tree

sapote

Ximenia Oil (Ximenia americana):
Also known as African Sour Plum and originating from the Southern Africa Savannahs, this oil has a unique honey-like consistency and is extremely moisturizing. It is an excellent fixative for perfumes, thus creating lasting aromas.

ximenia

Yangu Oil (Calodendrum capense):
Also called Cape Chestnut, originates from the Southern African region, and is rich in essential fatty acids. It bears a delicate rose aroma, with a hint of wood and is a good perfume fixative to retain the scent.

yangu-tree

Andiroba (Carapa guianensis):
From the heart of the Amazon, Andiroba oil is processed from the Carapa Guianensis tree and is highly valued for its analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. It is an important resource for local communities, when exploited sustainably. NadiaZ promotes its use in perfumery, where it imbues very subtle, light, creamy and sweet notes.

andiroba

Spanish Broom/ Genet (Spartium junceum)
A shrub with bright yellow flowers very tolerant to drought and often out-competing native plants. It is very common to the Mediterranean litoral where it fills the air with joyous fruit floral notes.

broom

broom-(2)

Palo Santo (Bursera Graveolens)
A mystical wood popularly called Holy Wood, it is native from South and Central America and belongs to the same family as Frankincense and Myrrh. First reports of its use date from the Inca era where it was reputated for its spiritual and relaxing properties. It is used till today by Shaman all over the continent. Its fragrance is anisic, powdery and slightly sweet, though fresh.

Wild Mushrooms:
Nadia and her father personally collect edible wild swiss mushrooms, some highly prized for their gustative properties and others which are largely ignored. She also procures them from continental Europe, among other places, to prepare exclusive extracts through her bespoke production techniques. Mushroom availability varies immensely between the seasons by and year, thus the proportion used in perfumes can vary.

Use
Being ultra-concentrated and plant-based, this perfume is very special, creating a long-lasting scented layer marrying with the skin. So spray from a distance, on skin not exposed to the sun, leave 4 mins —until the alcohol evaporates— and only THEN smell. For a fainter scent, apply to clothes.

Caution
Shake before use to avoid blocking the spray pump. In case of blockage, remove the pump top and rinse well with water. Remove the shona stone lid first since this is not fixed to the cap. Once the bottle is empty, the stone can be removed from the cap and used for decoration and in art collections.

For external use only. Do not use on children and, as a precaution, avoid using perfumes during pregnancy. Many essential oils can cause photo-sensitivity therefore do not use on skin exposed to the sun. All perfumes contain volatile substances; asthmatics may be best advised to test their reaction first, to apply in a well-ventilated place, and to choose roll-on applicators. Wear this perfume for special days or nights, or alternate with other NadiaZ creations to diversify your exposure to valuable yet powerful plants constituents. It is not advisable for people with liver conditions. Do not use on light colored fabrics; for colored fabrics, test first on a small patch, and spray from a distance after mixing well to avoid oil staining.

Allergies
Contains tree nuts, kernel and unrefined virgin seed oils. May have been in contact with bee and dairy products. Not suitable for persons allergic to lilies and acetylsalicylic acid ( Aspirin). To limit the occurrence of allergies, it is recommendable to reduce sources of allergens at home (ambient perfumes, deodorizers, scented candles, harsh detergents, humidity and molds, smoke, etc) and test for food or contact allergies.

Storage
Store in a dark, dry and cool place. This is a natural product subject to small variations in color, scent and texture. This product is highly inflammable; keep away from any flame or heat, no not spray on an open flame or other ignition source. Keep out of reach from children. In case of ingestion, consult a doctor immediately. In case of contact with the eyes, rinse immediately and consult a doctor. Use before expiration date (24 months).

NadiaZ formulations favor the preservation of the active ingredients by using virgin plant oils, thus many perfumes have several highly valuable phases, or sediments, which need to be blended by shaking before use. Waxes and butters may solidify in cold and regain fluidity when gently warmed up with your hands or in lukewarm water.

As many of the perfume ingredients are wild indigenous plants extracts, NadiaZ perfumes may vary slightly in scent, depending on ingredient origin, climate and harvest conditions, extraction methods and processing. While all NadiaZ ingredients concentrations are adjusted by the perfumer’s nose, NadiaZ aims for uttermost quality in its materials, without standardization, sourcing them from a wide variety of locations and producers. This minimizes their ecological footprint and involves working with smaller communities. As a result, this limits the environmental impact on a single geographical origin and improves the sustainability of harvesting practices, as well as reducing climatic risks.

About perfume aging

As a policy NadiaZ recommends to follow the storage instructions and expiration date as per the cosmetics legislation, particularly as we cannot guarantee the quality of your storage conditions at home. However, as for Grand Cru wines, some perfumes have aging potential and other not. NadiaZ perfume compositions make a great use of resins that just like oud, vetiver or ambergris, get more complexity with time, while citrus require a special attention due to their oxydative susceptibility. NadiaZ unique formulations and indigenous oil mix ensure an improved stability, however they remain natural and thus fragile.    In our workshop, perfumes are aged first till optimal level, tested regularly for stability and scent profile evolution and only poured in individual bottles fresh before sale. Mini-formats should never be aged as their small volume size and unsealed bottle present more risk for oxidation.

(Chemin de Fleurs d’Oranger Or Homme)
“Oro.
